Inca Army

The Incas organized a powerful, efficient, and well-armed army to ensure the dominance of the Andean region, to maintain peace, to defend against external enemy attacks, and to expand territorially. Military service was compulsory during the Inca era. The vast expansion of the empire was possible thanks to the vigilant organization of the military. Every citizen of the Inca Empire between the ages of 25 and 50 was obliged to serve in the military, but physically challenged persons were exempted from military service. With the Incas, the war achieved greater development than any other people in pre-Columbian America. Although the First War Incas had economic intentions; Later, each Inca emperor had a desire to transcend his predecessors, and for no other reason than the desire to increase the reputation of the Incas. Organized by the Inca Army: Chunka-Camyok with 10 men, Pikka-Chunkamyok with 50 men, Pachak-Camyok, commander of a company, Captain in charge of 10 companies, Huaranka-Camyok and Hatun-Apu, with 5,000 men under its command. And the supreme leadership of the army was held by the Incas themselves, and he could delegate it to one of his generals or a close relative. The chiefs of the greatest trusts were the Apostles, and they were always members of the noble Panacea of Cusco. The power of the Inca army consisted of two elements: the Master of the Four and the Discipline. The Incas built a large road network to facilitate the movement of their armies. The presence of poles on these roads served to other troops in the field and to replace animals and weapons. In terms of discipline, she was very strict. Even on the entrance march, a soldier was not allowed to leave the building. The way to subdue the neighboring people was in two ways: 1 Peaceful victories Embassies were sent to persuade neighboring chiefs with agreements that suited them to add to the empire that people or tribes could see that they had won the advantage of belonging to the empire due to the political, administrative, religious, linguistic organization, etc. of the empire. Instead, they offered to respect the customs and traditions of the religion and its authorities. If the people accept the peaceful victory, the Inca and his army will peacefully occupy the land. They then taught their population the various arts of Inca culture, its architecture, and agriculture. 2 Violent victory Violent conquests were used only when the people of the area did not accept the proposals for peaceful conquest by rejecting the imperial authorities and their embassies. The Inca army took appropriate action to conquer or invade such territories for the Inca Empire, and the city was destroyed and the survivors became Yanakonas (perpetual servants). The Incas later undertook the task of rebuilding and reorganizing the area. With the help of the Mitimes (Inca colonists) they imposed by their rituals: language, obedience to the Incas, and worship of the sun god or inti. To use the form of violence, the Incas sent their angels to spy on the warriors' numbers, weapons, or defense systems. It gave them a huge advantage in calculating their deployment. War was the only way to compete and excel because life was so brutal. They used embossed rocks, bollards and maces, sharp poles and shields. They were used with both hands. They used very hard wooden swords called makanas as well as battle axes with stone or copper blades and long wooden spears with a point hardened by fire. To protect themselves, they wore cotton cotton shirts, which the Spanish adopted, and discarded steel, hot and heavy. They wore wooden hats or knitted canes over their heads. After the Invasion: Absorption of Inca Culture. They were forced to respect the Indi gods and Virakocha. Their ancient gods survived and the chiefs of the region were named Kurakas. Perhaps, the territories they conquered were so poor that it was the responsibility of the Inca governors rather than profit.
